                   ”because what we
do makes a difference.”

Colleen has devoted herself to self-improvement, empowerment and enlightenment in both her career and personal life.  Born and raised in Southern California, she is a self-proclaimed “seeker” of knowledge and truth.  However, her first love has always been to entertain.  Under constant tutelage since the age of 12 in all manner of communication and theatre, this unique education prepared her not only as an accomplished stage actress, but through all her roles in life.  Drawing upon these years of acting and performance history enables her to present any subject in a lively, entertaining manner.

Her various career incarnations include image specialist, retail sales, marketing assistant, and office manager.  However, it wasn’t until she began her career in the spa industry in early 1995 with Kerstin Florian International that her love for deeper knowing became more fully realized.

As a connoisseur of metaphysics (astrology, numerology, tarot and Native American teachings) and alternative healing modalities (massage and touch therapy, color therapy, aromatherapy, balneotherapy, pelotherapy), Spa opened the doors for Colleen to delve deeper into these and other special interests of Feng Shui, Positive Psychology, self-improvement and personal empowerment.

Her desire has always been to communicate with those around her in meaningful way.  Founded in 1998, Women of Substance came into being as a means to reach out to her many female friends to support and uplift each through her monthly newsletter and group meeting forum.  Although the formal title has languished, the connection has not.  “Communication and connection, it’s what I do.”She has experienced spas all over the world.  As a special guest of international radio host Jesse Dylan’s The Good Life Network and most recently as Co-Host of Carol Blonder’s Networking Arizona on KFNX 1100, Ms. Smith also had the privilege to speak to thousands of listeners about spa lifestyle and personal empowerment.

Through her seminars and classes, she has helped hundreds of industry professionals grow in their careers and understanding, inherently able to distill the most complex issues or ideas down to their very essence, Colleen’s ability to see the connectedness in all things gives her a unique take on life.

Focused studies in Psychology and Communications fanned the embers to self improvement and enlightenment, while the years of theatrical training fueled the subsequent fire to communicate those findings.  It all comes full circle with Ms. Smith’s two latest endeavors:  Chrysalis Clear – the art and science of transformation and the Arizona Spa Association.   For a more complete picture (after all, it does speak a thousand words!) please visit her web site at www.chrysalisclear.com.
